Dual Meet, Saline at Pioneer, Sept. 29, 1999

Highlights

Cold, wet and muddy. It wasn't a pleasant day to run. Saline beat Pioneer by a score of 22-39. Saline has one of the top teams in the state, so it was not a shock that Pioneer lost.

Matt Johnson finished first, but this was made easier by the absence of Saline's top three runners. Nonetheless, Matt ran an excellent race. His time of 17:05 was 27 seconds ahead of Saline's top finisher. Too bad Matt couldn't test himself against Saline's best.

The difficult conditions slowed all runners. Most racers ran about 30 seconds slower than their times at the Jackson Invitational. A very notable exception was Pat Cullip. Pat reduced his PR by 1:02. Mike Roth also achieved a personal record time.
